addition of support for an issue where the reverse camera is not displayed.
Previous builds included:
All Firmware files are
compressed to make it easier and faster to download. When you download this
file to your computer you will need a program to uncompress the files. This is
called “UNZIPPING”. There are many free programs to do this and your computer
may have already come with a program built in to do this. If you require a
program we recommend WINZIP.
WINZIP is free and can be
downloaded here: http://www.winzip.com/downwz.htm Follow
the instructions at the WinZip site for use of this utility. Please follow the
instructions below for performing the update to your radio.
NOTE: YOU MUST LOAD THE NEW
SOFTWARE ON EACH SD CARD. YOU CAN NOT COPY TO ONE CARD AND UPDATE MULTIPLE
RADIO’S. USE THE SD CARD FROM EACH RADIO SEPARATELY.
THE FIRMWARE YOU DOWNLOADED IS
SPECIFIC TO THE MODEL RADIO YOU HAVE SELECTED. DO NOT USE IN ANOTHER MODEL OF
RADIO. THIS WILL CAUSE IMPROPER OPERATION AND POSSIBLY DAMAGE THE UNIT.
To update the firmware:
Remove the MAP SD
card from the radio. Take note on how it came out, contacts up or down?
You need a Micro SD
Card Adapter; this can be purchased at any office supply store. Insert the
Micro SD into the adapter and plug it into your computer. This can be a SD Card
slot or USB slot depending on your adapter and computer. Do not delete any
files or format the SD card. If you do this you will delete the Map from your
card. Follow the directions carefully.
Unzip the file you
downloaded and copy all files to the MAP Micro SD CARD – This must be done for
each radio.
You cannot move one SD card to another
vehicle!
If you are asked
“File already exists, is it ok to replace, answer “YES” When completed remove the Micro SD from the adapter and return
to the vehicle. (This can be done on the bench too.)
Start with the key
off. (Or Power off if on the bench)
Insert the updated
SD card back into the radio exactly the same way it came out, Make sure it
clicks in.
Turn the radio on. Wait
for it to boot up. Hit the Menu button, Go to settings and go to the second
page, push update system. Wait for the key pad to show up, then enter 543210
and hit the enter/return key (looks like an arrow)
select auto update, select yes to update all. The update will begin running.
Wait until the radio reboots completely
and the Radio Screen comes up; do not stop the update,
When
the radio restarts and returns to the Radio screen select menu. Select the Nav application, and restart
if needed. Let run for a few moments, you will get a message that “Full License
is activated”. After that Push the NAV hard button to return
to the main menu.
If
you get a message asking for an “Activation code“in the NAV you have not done
the upgrade correctly.
Re-copy the files from the download directly to the SD card from this radio and
start over. If you still get this message go to the INFO screen under the
SETTINGS menu and write down the UUID code on the bottom line. Call Tech
Support or Customer Service. Advise them that you need an “Activation Code” and
the model number of the radio. They will ask for the UUID number. Once you have
the activation code, enter it into the keypad that comes up when you run the
Navigation Application.
Next: Select
Settings from the main menu, then go to page 2, press and hold SYSTEM RESET UNTIL THE RADIO SHUTS OFF, (this is extremely
important) then let the radio reboot.
Your Radio now has
all the latest features. Remember to set the volume for your nave system. This
must be done while the navigation system is speaking. To do this enter a route,
the press the I Icon in the top right corner of the Nav screen to get the
system to repeat the last message. The volume set will be retained and will not
change unless you adjust it again.
If for some reason
your Navigation Application asks for an “ACTIVATION CODE” please call Audiovox
Tech Support.
You’re finished.
This process should not take more than about 5 or 10 minutes to complete.
