All Prior Advent Firmware Updates are
included in this version. There is no need to upgrade to any version prior to
this before using this firmware.
This update addresses reports of
the following issues:
Some users have reported hearing a “pop” sound at
shut down
The vehicle backup
camera setting defaulting to the OFF position.
All Firmware files are
compressed to make it easier and faster to download. When you download this
file to your computer you will need a program to uncompress the files. This is
called “UNZIPPING”. There are many free programs to do this and your computer
may have already come with a program built in to do this. If you require a
program we recommend WINZIP.
WINZIP is free and can be
downloaded here: http://www.winzip.com/downwz.htm Follow
the instructions at the WinZip site for use of this utility. Please follow the
instructions below for performing the update to your radio.
NOTE: YOU MUST LOAD THE NEW
SOFTWARE ON EACH SD CARD. YOU CAN NOT COPY TO ONE CARD AND UPDATE MULTIPLE
RADIO’S. USE THE SD CARD FROM EACH RADIO SEPARATELY.
THE FIRMWARE YOU DOWNLOADED IS
SPECIFIC TO THE MODEL RADIO YOU HAVE SELECTED. DO NOT USE IN ANOTHER MODEL OF
RADIO. THIS WILL CAUSE IMPROPER OPERATION AND POSSIBLY DAMAGE THE UNIT.
To update the firmware:
Remove the MAP SD
card from the radio. Take note on how it came out, contacts up or down?
You need a Micro SD
Card Adapter; this can be purchased at any office supply store. Insert the
Micro SD into the adapter and plug it into your computer. This can be a SD Card
slot or USB slot depending on your adapter and computer. Do not delete any
files or format the SD card. If you do this you will delete the Map from your
card. Follow the directions carefully.
Unzip the file you
downloaded and copy all files to the MAP Micro SD CARD – This must be done for
each radio.
You cannot move one SD card to another
vehicle!
If you are asked
“File already exists, is it ok to replace, answer “YES” When completed remove the Micro SD from the adapter and
return to the vehicle. (This can be done on the bench too.)
Start with the key
off. (Or Power off if on the bench)
Insert the updated
SD card back into the radio exactly the same way it came out, Make sure it
clicks in.
Turn the radio on. Wait
for it to boot up. Hit the Menu button, Go to settings and go to the second
page, push update system. Wait for the key pad to show up, then enter 543210
and hit the enter/return key (looks like an arrow)
select auto update, select yes to update all. The update will begin running.
Wait until the radio reboots completely
and the Radio Screen comes up; do not stop the update,
Next: Select
Settings from the main menu, then go to page 2, press and hold SYSTEM RESET UNTIL THE RADIO SHUTS OFF, (this is extremely
important) then let the radio reboot.
Your Radio now has
all the latest features. You will need to select you user options and reprogram
any settings you may have chose previously.
You’re finished.
This process should not take more than about 5 or 10 minutes to complete.
This update only
updates the Radio Operating system. For Navigational updates go to WWW.NAVIEXTRAS.COM and follow the
instructions there.
FOLLOW BOOTLOADER INSTRUCTIONS BELOW –
YOU MUST REPROGRAM THE VEHICLE SELECTION WHEN THE UPDATE IS COMPLETED.
OTOMF1 Firmware selection
Instructions
The OTOMF1 requires
programming to select the year of the installed
vehicle. Due to changes in Toyota Vehicles between 2011 and 2012 we have
designed this radio to be programmed with multiple configurations. You will
need to select the correct one for your vehicle.
DO NOT TURN OFF OR DISCONNECT THE RADIO
WHILE UPDATING THE FIRMWARE!
1: Go to the SETTINGS menu, then to page 2 and press the “UPDATE”
button.
2: When the keypad appears enter 31521 then press the Enter key ( 8 ). The vehicle selection screen will now
load, this may take a moment.
3: Select your vehicle year. Once located press the button that has
your vehicle listed on it.
4: “Are you sure” will appear, confirm your selection with YES or
NO. If for some reason this radio had been programmed before or you select the
wrong choice just turn the radio off then on again and start over.
5: The update will run and when done it will return to the Vehicle
Selection screen. Once you are sure the update is completed press the “REBOOT”
button.
6: The radio will re-boot to the normal Radio screen. The update
has been completed.
NOTE: For DVD video operation all vehicles require the Parking
Brake lead be connected to the parking brake switch side that has a ground when
the parking brake is engaged. If this is not connected DVD video cannot be
played. Always connect correctly as viewing video when driving is illegal and
unsafe.
