This Update is for Bluetooth ONLY.
Bluetooth Version HW200 – SW331
This update will address the
issue of the iPhone 5 and or Apple devices running iOS
6 not working correctly with A2DP controls (AVRCP). The iPhone 5 and iOS 6 is not backward compatible with older versions of
Bluetooth software in some models. This update has been released by Parrot
especially for Advent OE radios ONLY to address this issue.
If you do not have any problem
with A2DP controls from your device there is no need to run this update.
DO NOT ATTEMP TO RUN THIS UPDATE ON ANY
RADIO OTHER THEN ADVENT OE SPECIFIC MODELS. IF YOU ARE
NOT SURE CONTACT ADVENT TECH SUPPORT WITH YOUR MODEL NUMBER. USE OF THIS UPDATE
ON NON SUPPORTED RADIOS COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BLUETOOTH SYSTEM.
To update the firmware:
Remove the current
Start with the key
off. (Or Power off if on the bench)
Download the Bluetooth update zip file unzip
and save the file @@@DVPBT.par to the SD card.
Insert the updated
SD card back into the radio exactly the same way it came out, Make sure it
clicks in.
Turn the radio on. Wait
for it to boot up. Hit the Menu button, Go to settings and go to the second
page, push “Update system”. Wait for the key pad to show up, then enter 543210
and hit the enter/return key (looks like an arrow)
select UPDATE BLUETOOTH, select yes to update. The update will begin running.
Wait until the update completes and the Update
Screen comes up again; do not stop the update,
After the Update
Screen returns select EXIT AND REBOOT. When
the radio is rebooted the update has been completed.
You’re finished.
This process should not take more than about 5 or 10 minutes to complete.
AVRCP Controls will
control Play, Pause, Next Song and Previous Song. As many devices including the
iPhone and iPod do not have a STOP mode (Only Play and Pause) the STOP button
will exit A2DP on these devices. This is normal operation as the Phone or
Player is designed this way. If STOP is pressed, exit A2DP and re enter to
restart the play mode or press play on your connected device.
